Dubai heart-shaped island to become ME's top honeymoon spot

DUBAI, July 12, 2016

Kleindienst, the largest European developer in the UAE and developer of The Heart of Europe in Dubai, has revealed plans for its St Petersburg Island – the first dedicated island honeymoon resort in the UAE.

Designed in the iconic shape of a love heart, St Petersburg Island at The Heart of Europe, just 6.5km from the coast of Dubai, draws inspiration from some of the world’s most sought after honeymoon hotspots found in The Maldives, Bora Bora and The Caribbean. Surrounded by 90 Floating Seahorse villas, each connected to the island via floating jetties; the charming vacation retreat will offer the ultimate in luxury travel.

With a third of the world’s population living within a four-hour flight from Dubai, St Petersburg is expected to become particularly popular with residents from the GCC and Middle East. Visitors from the region, and further afield, will be able to experience the perfect honeymoon without having to take a long-haul flight, or any of the hassles associated with visa applications for other popular destinations around the world.

Set to put Dubai on the map for soon-to-be newlyweds all over the world, the exclusive island destination offers lovebirds the perfect combination of an island retreat and a Dubai city break. Situated just 20 minutes from the mainland, guests will be able to experience the bustling emirate before secluding themselves in privacy back on the island, which boasts a 24/7 butler service.

Guests at St Petersburg will be among some of the privileged few to experience life in The Floating Seahorse – the world’s first underwater villa.   The iconic luxury marine style retreat boasts a spectacular underwater level and totally submerged bedrooms and bathrooms - offering breathtaking views to the surrounding coral garden and marine life.

Further adding to the destination’s appeal, guests staying at St Petersburg Island will also have access to Main Europe and Switzerland Island within The Heart of Europe, which will both operate outdoor climate controlled technology 12 months a year, allowing honeymooners the opportunity to enjoy the idyllic resort even during the warmer summer months, when many couples choose to marry.

St Petersburg Island will be home to a variety of first class facilities including an infinity pool, shallow lagoons, lush tropical gardens and a pool bar and restaurant.  Newlyweds will also be able to enjoy delicious cuisine freshly prepared by the resort’s head chef or choose to dine at the nearby Main Europe Island, the largest island and vibrant hub of The Heart of Europe.

For those who want to enjoy the local marine life, snorkelling and diving activities are on offer, combined with spa and relaxation facilities to ensure a relaxing and rejuvenating stay at The Heart of Europe.

Josef Kleindienst, chairman of The Heart of Europe said: “St Petersburg Island will be a dream destination for couples and newlyweds. The five-star resort will offer privacy, tranquility and first-class hospitality to ensure a memorable and once in a lifetime experience. The honeymoon business is a multi-billion dollar industry and we are excited by the prospect of newly-married couples choosing to spend the most special holiday of their lives at St Petersburg Island very soon.”

Guests will be able to access St Petersburg Island with private transfers by helicopter, seaplane or boat. Honeymoon bookings at St Petersburg Resort will also open soon.

As an alternative choice for newlyweds, The Honeymoon Hotel on Main Europe Island at The Heart of Europe is set to open at the end of 2018. - TradeArabia News Service
