Four Seasons George V, Paris scoops top award

Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, a French luxury hotel owned by the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) in Saudi Arabia, was awarded the “Best European City Hotel” in the 2015 Gallivanter’s Guide.

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of KHC, acquired the George V in 1996 for $178 million, following which a two-year $125 million comprehensive renovation was started in 1997.

"The hotel is the best and most prestigious in the world, having retained its award status for 13 consecuutive years," said Prince Alwaleed.

KHC owns a 47.5 per cent stake in the Four Seasons which is co-owned by Bill Gates’ Cascade with a 47.5 per cent stake, and the remaining 5 per cent owned by Isadore Sharp, founder and chairman of Four Seasons.
