Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach has gone to great lengths to becoming more socially and ecologically aware, earning itself an ISO14001 certification.

The luxury hotel has launched a number of new environmentally friendly initiatives, as part of its Environmental Management System policy, and further developed existing practices in pursuit of this accreditation.
 
These include setting performance objectives, saving water, recycling waste, using certified copier paper and using eco-friendly chemicals, proving carbon footprints are now just as important as delivering unparalleled service.
 
The implementation of these new ecological operations has only been possible through Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach’s diligent approach to its Environmental Management System, whereby all employees are trained on the basic principles of sustainability by raising awareness of day-to-day green operations.  
 
Commenting on the importance of the process, Antoine M Lhuguenot, general manager at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach, said: “The whole team at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is very proud to be ISO14001 certified.

Being awarded with ISO14001 ties in with AccorHotels’ wider Planet 21 sustainable development programme, described by Lhuguenot, as a “vital tool in the quest towards ecological preservation.”
 
Planet 21 AccorHotels Sustainable Development Programme is a benchmarking programme to measures key indicators such as Energy & Water Consumption, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Waste Management, Community Commitment and Management of Chemicals, to provide a holistic picture of operational performance of the hotels.
 
As part of this, the team at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach recently created a creative display in the lobby made purely out of recycled items. This was accompanied by a video, which educated guests with the hotel’s recycling statistics.
