Ostheimer ... bid to meet increase in demand.

DC Aviation Al-Futtaim to expand Dubai ops

DUBAI, January 5, 2016

DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), a leading private and business aviation facility, will expand its operations at its home base at Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai South (formerly Dubai World Central), UAE.

This follows the recent announcement from its joint venture partner – Al-Futtaim, a privately owned UAE business conglomerate, to lease an additional 10,000 sq m of land from Dubai South. DCAF is a joint venture between Germany-based DC Aviation, a major operator of business jets and Dubai-based Al-Futtaim.

The new plot will increase the operational potential of DCAF, enabling the company to expand its existing VIP lounge and hangar facility.

Holger Ostheimer, general manager of DC Aviation Al-Futtaim said: “The recent increase in demand for our services as well as Dubai Airport’s decision to transition all corporate and private aviation activities to Al Maktoum International Airport has encouraged Al-Futtaim to committing to signing this lease deal. This agreement will ensure that DCAF will remain the number one service provider for business and private jet operations in Aviation District at Dubai South.”

The expansion will more than double the hangar capacity as well as enable DCAF to add two single aisle aircraft maintenance bays and provide for enough space for an additional workshop and equipment storage.

DCAF’s core areas of business include aircraft management, maintenance, FBO and ground handling and business jet charter.

The existing DCAF hangar measures 5,700 sq m and can easily accommodate multiple ACJ or BBJ type aircraft, ultra-long range business jets such as the Falcon 7X, Global Express or Gulfstream G650, a statement said.

Located in a prime position just off the airport’s runway, the DCAF hangar and 7,700 sq m dedicated ramp parking enables 24-7 support, maintenance services and operation of private and businesses jets of all sizes, it added.- TradeArabia News Service
