Hotel show ends on high note with big deals, tieups

DUBAI, October 10, 2015

The Hotel Show Dubai 2015 ended on a successful note with companies signing million dollar business deals and striking major partnerships during the three-day event, said the event organisers.

More than 600 suppliers from the hospitality industry showcased their products in front of thousands of visitors at the show which was held recently at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the organisers stated.

Oman based S&T, The Hotel Show’s Interiors Partner for 2015 and leading interiors and contracting company announced a new JV with Italian group InteriorPlus.

Speaking of the new venture, titled Interim, S&T vice-chairman Waqas Al Adawi said: “We are very excited to announce our joint venture partnership with InteriorPlus, a well-recognised brand in the Italian and European market. With S&T’s global experience and InteriorPlus’ European interior fit-out expertise, we are confident to redefine execution of projects, thus bringing together style, elegance and execution finesse of exemplary quality.”
 
The new partnership, he stated, comes at a time when S&T Interiors & Contracting is embarking on a significant path of change.

"The company has recently unveiled a new brand identity which is in sync with S&T’s belief to take the organization ahead and become one of the top 5 global brands in its industry," he added.
 
S&T Interiors & Contracting has expertise in managing iconic projects in luxury hospitality sector and high-end residential and commercial projects, stated Al Adawi.

Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, Abu Dhabi; Dubai International Airport Project Concourse 3; Ritz Carlton Al Bustan Palace Hotel, Muscat are among the prestigious projects of S&T, he added.

InteriorPlus is associated with international projects such as Gazprom offices, St. Petersburg; Hotel Palazzo Parigi, Milan; Hotel Moresco, Venice; Four Seasons, Moscow; Park Hyatt, Moscow and others.  
 
Vagan Oganian, the managing director at InteriorPlus, said: "Through Interium, we aim to provide innovative solutions and services to our customers in order to create a unique experience for them, and thus getting recognized as a leading global sustainable interior fit-out solution provider."
 
Midas Interiors, a leading interior fit-out contractor based in Dubai specialising in restaurants, announced a major deal on the first day of The Hotel Show signing a $2-million contract with Abu Dhabi based Al Ahlia Group’s flagship F&B brand La Brioche.

With 30 locations in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai the new contract will see Midas assist with the multi-location opening of La Brioche Café and the renovation of existing branches, stated the company.

Timberwolf, a leading European flooring and garden decking manufacturer based in the UAE announced major business deals from the 3 days of the event. Wolfgang Douglas, CEO at Timberwolf said: “This year’s Hotel Show was by far the best exhibition of the year with confirmed orders and new projects to top over US $12 million of trade.”

Castello Luxury Baths, an internationally renowned company, boasts a wide range of baths and spas installed in luxury homes, 5-star hotels and spas, ski lodges and yachts around the world from the Great House on Necker Island in the Carribean, to the recently launched Imperia Spa baths in Coya Spa & Wellness in Sharjah, new Mirdiff Shopping Center.

“The Hotel Show has been an amazing and successful event for Castello with over 50 prospective leads and projects for hotels, safari lodges and international resorts with potential orders worth over $10 million. We will definitely be back next year with a new range of product designs,” stated Laurie Clayden, its CEO and designer.

Houssam Rayess, a director at Burlington Technologies, a key manufacturer of residential and commercial fabrics in the US, which recently opened its first showroom in Dubai to serve the region, said: "We already have over 200 customers in the GCC and Middle East and The Hotel Show is the best event for hospitality in the region, connecting us this year to new customers from across the Middle East, North Africa, South Africa, India and further afield."

This year the number of countries in the show’s International Village expanded with the introduction of Croatia, Finland, Indonesia and Switzerland, taking the number of countries represented up to 48. Also for the first time, a Japanese association took part.

Takahide Ohta, the head of operations at the Japan Leading Edge Foundation (JLEF) said: "The Hotel Show has presented us with an excellent opportunity to connect with top level professionals from the hospitality industry in the Middle East who have a real interest in Japan."

"Despite this being our first time at the show, we already have a number of potential business tie-ups lined up post-show. An absolute must for any organisation in the hospitality industry with links to the region," he added.
