Tamani hotels, apartments’ occupancy exceed 96pc in Dubai

DUBAI, July 25, 2015

The occupancy rate at Tamani hotel rooms and apartments allocated for families who attended Eid holiday in Dubai, especially from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries, exceeded 96 per cent, according to a senior official.

Sherif Elibrashy, director of Sales and Marketing at Tamani, said: "We achieved great rates during Eid holiday, that came as a result of special offers we launched during holy month of Ramadan addressed to Gulf and Arab family tourism, included discounts on prices and benefits of staying at Tamani to make their holiday a happy and memorable one, a goal that we always pursue.”

Dubai witnessed a significant crowd of visitors from all over the world during Eid, the high occupancy rate included most of hotels, which proves that Dubai still tops the Arab tourism destinations, especially in family tourism, which is characterised by Tamani’s services and offers in this area, he said.

The success promoted the launch of ‘Eid in Dubai’ eighth session which is organised by Dubai Foundation for festivals and retail, one of many Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) institutions, which launched its activities during Eid, said Elibrashy.

“Families prefer accommodation in hotels of categories from four to five-star serviced apartments, as families with children under the age of adolescence favour traveling to destinations including activity offering entertainment venues and events, they also favour destinations with a variety of activities in addition to availability of shopping centres; family tourism increases number of tourists which is reflected on the size of spending that boosts economy and its diversity,” he added.

Family tourism’s value is expected to rise to $181 billion by 2018 driven by population growth in the Muslim world and strong economic performance, said a statement.

Industry experts have predicted that family tourism will achieve strong annual growth estimated at 4.79 per cent until 2020, and at a rate higher than the global growth estimated at 3.8 per cent, reflecting the growing importance of Islamic economics, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
