Turkish Airlines initiates codeshare with EVA Air
ISTANBUL, June 4, 2015
Turkish Airlines and Taiwan’s EVA Air have signed a code share agreement on the Taipei-Istanbul route, effective immediately.
Under the agreement, EVA Air will place its marketing code on Turkish Airlines’ daily flights to Taipei as the first stage of the cooperation.
The second stage will see Turkish Airlines place its code on EVA operated flights when it launches the route next year.
The new codeshare agreement allows passengers to benefit from a higher number of combined frequencies for better connectivity and increased travel flexibility between two countries. The route is especially attractive to leisure and business travellers from Taipei and Asia because it takes no more than 2 to 3 hours to make smooth onward flight connections to the major cities in Europe, including Frankfurt, Barcelona, Lisbon, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
The two airlines are also entering into a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) that will enable passengers who book connecting flights to travel with one ticket and check baggage all the way through to their destination.
Turkish Airlines links 226 international destinations and more than 100 of them are in Europe. As the only city having settled on two continents, Istanbul serves as a main hub which connects the east and the west. It offers the transcontinental advantages of its location in Eurasia and makes connecting flights to destinations throughout Europe and the Middle East easier than ever for EVA passengers. – TradeArabia News Service
