Ajman focuses on enhancing green practices

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) and Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) recently discussed ways to enhance green practices in tourism establishments in the UAE emirate.

EGBC, formed in 2006, works towards advancing green building principles for protecting the environment and ensuring sustainability in the UAE

During a meeting at EGBC’s headquarters in Dubai, UAE, both parties dwelt on opportunities and potentials for continued cooperation with regard to increasing “go-green” awareness levels, exchanging ideas focused on preserving the environment and enhancing sustainability efforts.

The initiative will see ATDD employees and Ajman hotel staffers receive training to further develop “green” initiatives, which will be implemented within their working environments.

A joint seminar will be also be held to address Ajman hoteliers about possible initiatives and future projects on including green practices within hotel classification criteria and standards. – TradeArabia News Service
