Omran...major development plans

Omran to develop six new hotels in sultanate

MUSCAT, April 14, 2015

Omran, Oman's tourism development and investment company, plans to open six new hotels in the Sultanate between 2015 and 2017.

The company will develop the properties either in joint venture, or as wholly owned entities, said a report in Oman Daily Observer.

In the line-up is the new five-star W Hotel in Muscat’s Shatti Al Qurum District, which once completed will be operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the report said.

With construction of the new property currently under way, the W Muscat Hotel is scheduled to open to the public in the first quarter of 2018 and will feature 290 rooms and suites, including 29 suites and four special suites

The new development will offer classical design and contemporary standards of luxury, together with the unique cultural experience that Muscat has to offer, it said.
