Ajman to improve tourism transport operations

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recently discussed with Ajman Public Transport Corporation (APTC) ways to improve tourism transport operations in the emirate.
Opening the meeting, ATDD director of tourism licensing and standards Yamina Aoucher said that as part of general directives from ATDD chairman Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the department “pays high attention to any feedback or suggestion it receives from customers and partners”.
“ATDD, then, studies the suggestion and tries to provide adequate response according to an approved mechanism,” she added, clarifying that “in case an issue was not part of its direct responsibilities, ATDD discusses it with concerned authorities.”
For his part, APTC head of tracking systems division Farooq Mukhtar highlighted the rules and regulations of his organisation and discussed available licensing information regarding the tourism transportation sector in Ajman.
Mukhtar’s presentation at the meeting included the role of APTC in registering tourism transport companies and providing them needed permissions to work in the emirate, in addition to monitoring their activities in cooperation with ATDD.
Tourism transportation is part of the second stage of ATDD project on classification of tourism sectors, which also included travel agencies and tourist restaurants. The first stage of the project; Ajman hotel classification was named the Best Tourism Project in the Middle East and North Africa as part of Mena Travel Awards 2014.
