Emirates and Qantas.. two successful years of partnership

Emirates and Qantas mark two years of partnership

DUBAI, April 2, 2015

Dubai-based Emirates and Qantas, the flag carrier of Australia, are celebrating the second anniversary of their airline partnership with more than two million codeshare customers travelling on both carriers since the partnership’s launch.

Thierry Antinori, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Emirates airline, said: “Through this partnership we are providing more tourism to Australia, opening up trade opportunities and flying more Australians on our extensive global network. The partnership also provides added value to our customers, with fast one-stop connectivity via our hub in Dubai between five Australian cities and 37 European cities; as well as comprehensive stopover products for travellers wishing to experience the dynamic city of Dubai. In addition, customers can earn and redeem frequent flyer rewards when travelling with either Emirates or Qantas.”

“From May, Emirates and Qantas will be flying a total of seven daily A380 services from Dubai to Australia, offering Australian and international passengers more chances to experience our flagship aircraft as well as Concourse A, the A380 terminal at Dubai International Airport where premium customers and frequent flyers can also experience our exclusive lounges.”

The partnership has provided an opportunity to showcase Qantas’ inflight menu, with Qantas Chef, Neil Perry’s, award-winning Rockpool meals featuring on Emirates services between Australia, Dubai and London. Qantas also offers an Emirates inspired Mezze plate in First and Business on this route.

Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans said the partnership has achieved significant benefits for customers offering an integrated network, countless opportunities to earn and redeem points and is setting the standard in customer experience.

“Customer satisfaction levels have reached record heights with a double digit increase in advocacy scores being received by international travellers as Qantas continues to develop its partnership strategy.”

“Qantas Frequent Flyer members have flown and earned points on 1.6 million segments and have flown nearly 16 billion km on the joint Qantas and Emirates network,” Evans said.

“Together we are taking more people to more places with Qantas customers now being able to access more than 70 Emirates destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and Emirates customers enjoying Qantas’ Australian domestic network of more than 50 destinations and 5,000 flights per week,” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
