Jaffar receives the award for outstanding leadership

Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha CEO wins two awards

DUBAI, March 12, 2015

The CEO of Holiday Inn Dubai - Al Barsha was recently honoured with two coveted leadership awards in the UAE and India.

Roxana Jaffer, along with others from UAE, Australia, Canada, and Bangladesh, was presented the “Global Inspirational Leadership Award, 2015" for outstanding leadership at the Women Leadership Achievement Awards 2015 at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai (India), last month.

Selection occurred through a rigorous process decided by an international panel of jury on broad parameters of eligibility of Leadership, Ethics, Interpersonal Skills, Charisma, Being a Visionary, A Change-Agent and with Business Acumen.

Jaffer was also honoured with the "Best Woman in Hospitality UAE" by the Women Leaders in UAE, Awards on February 25.

Under her leadership, the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha has become a recognised partner of the United Nations World Food Programme. In furthering their global mandate, Jaffer has played an incredible role in raising funds to feed over 200,000 hungry children in the world. She has also founded the NGO “Advent for Building Human Capital (abc)” which has been doing phenomenal work in Pakistan, India and the UAE, helping discerning individuals to rise to a higher level.

Jaffer has also touched hearts through the hotel’s “Loves You Campaign.” Since its inception, the hotel staff  have successfully held various awareness and fund-raising drives in their own small way, not only to build a civil society in the UAE but also to help the needy in other parts of the world. Some of the most incredible works include the Valentine’s “Tea Party” for children with special needs, making major contribution in the 2010 Pakistan Flood Relief programme, and hosting Iftar for underprivileged and orphaned children.

In her acceptance speech, Jaffer said: “It is a deep honour to be considered worthy for this special recognition and I would like to acknowledge learning received from sacrifices made by my mum and my grandmother as they worked in making a difference in the life of so many under privileged people"

"It is humbling to know that as a leader, standing in for what's right and displaying courage to uphold my convictions, that I should be nominated," she said, giving credit to her team for the achievement. – TradeArabia News Service
