Gama Aviation...Sharjah airport growth looks positive
Gama Aviation to continue growth at Sharjah Airport
SHARJAH, December 9, 2014
Gama Aviation, a leading business aviation services group, plans to widen its presence at Sharjah International Airport, UAE, next year with heightened engineering capability and a commitment to build a new hangar to serve the influx of based and visiting aircraft at its new Sharjah fixed base operation (FBO).
Gama Aviation took over the responsibility for all business aviation handling at Sharjah International Airport in early 2012 in a partnership with Sharjah Airport Authority.
Since the inauguration of the FBO in July, several aircraft owners and operators have made Sharjah Airport their principal base of operations, encouraged by the expert handling services, competitive parking and hangar fees.
Features of the facilities include a VIP lounge for passengers offering luxury British brands, plus a dedicated relaxation area and showers for crew.
“We already have UAE GCAA and European EASA line maintenance approvals enabling our engineers to support aircraft, including King Airs, Challengers, Globals, Legacies, Gulfstreams and BBJ’s. As we move into the second phase of our development strategy next year, we will construct a new mixed-use hangar for maintenance and aircraft storage and want to broaden the engineering coverage with additional types and certifications to ensure that we can serve as wide a variety of customers as we possibly can,” said Richard Lineveldt, general manager.
Moreover, As Dubai International Airport gets increasingly busy with commercial services, supporting more and more wide-bodied jets, Gama Aviation’s proposition to the Middle East business aviation community for competitively priced hangarage to owners and operators is something the company will be focusing on at the biennial Middle East Business Aviation Exhibition (Meba) this week. – TradeArabia News Service
