Goueli... new payment service next month
Europe travel firm launches new service in region
DUBAI, November 26, 2014
Destinia.com, one of Europe’s largest online travel agencies which opened its Dubai office in January, will launch a ‘payment on delivery’ facility in December.
The Spain based agency opened a new sales office in Dubai in January, their second in the Middle East following the launch of the Cairo office in November 2007.
Destinia.com saw 2013 sales in the Middle East increasing by 46 per cent, representing 20 per cent of the company’s overall sales. During 2014, Destina.com has witnessed further double digit growth from the Middle East’s with sales further increasing by 120 per cent and expects the Mena region to represent around 30 per cent of the company’s overall sales in next three years.
“E-commerce is a growing industry in the Middle East,” said Amuda Goueli, CEO and co-founder of Destinia.com.
The Middle East market is experiencing considerable growth and is estimated to reach fifteen billion dollars in 2015, according to PayPal.
“More money is spent on travel than on any other online purchase in the region and there is currently no strong local online travel agency. What differentiates Destinia is that we’re constantly one step ahead, innovating with new technologies and bespoke customer led services,” Goueli continued.
“Destinia has ambitions to become the leading online travel agency in the Middle East and we are on track to maintain double digit sales growth during 2015.”
Destinia’s ‘pay from home’ will let clients make reservations online, a courier visits their homes and uses an app to record payment of the invoice, after which the system sends out a reservation voucher via email. “It’s easy, convenient and secure,” said Goueli.
“Our goal is to earn the trust of our customers, and by doing so, establish ourselves as the top online travel agency in the region,” concluded Goueli.
Currently Destinia.com is firming up agreements with local tour operators in order to offer products and services that are more suited to local tastes, as well as forming alliances with regional travel agencies that can act as technological partners under the OnlineTravel brand name – the sister company of Destinia.com. – TradeArabia News Service
