Canso...addressing key aviation issues
Canso backs Dubai summit
DUBAI, November 12, 2014
Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (Canso), the global voice of the companies that provide air traffic control, is supporting the forthcoming Future Air Transportation Systems Summit as a strategic partner.
The summit will be held on January 18 and 19, 2015, at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai, UAE.
Officially endorsed and co-organised by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the theme of the summit is how the aviation industry is a key economic driver not just for the UAE, but for the whole of the Middle East region.
With the aviation industry showing phenomenal growth in recent years, air traffic management capacity in the region could begin to constrain continued economic growth. Simply modernising the region’s airspace management will not maximise efficiency gains that will lead to increased air traffic management capacity.
Jeff Poole, director general of Canso said: “Transforming air traffic management performance in the Middle East is a major priority for Canso and its members. The Future Air Transportations Systems Summit is an excellent forum in which to address the key issues of improving efficiency and working towards airspace harmonisation in the region. We are delighted that Canso has been given the opportunity to organise two thought-provoking sessions that will complement and inform the meeting of the ICAO Middle East Airspace Enhancement Programme (MAEP). These discussions will reinforce MAEP as the single common regional airspace initiative in the Middle East.” – TradeArabia News Service
