Accor to operate three new hotels in Jeddah
JEDDAH, October 12, 2014
Accor Hotel Services Middle East, one of the world’s leading hospitality groups, has signed management agreements with Alesayi Group to operate three hotels in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of a wider project combining office, retail and hospitality components.
The project comprises a 275-room Novotel, midscale brand within the Accor portfolio; a 250-Key ibis, Accor’s leading economy brand; and a 150-apartment Adagio, Accor’s aparthotels for medium and long-term stays.
“We are pleased to further strengthen our relationship with Alesayi to develop this prime project. With its distinctive and iconic design, we believe it will become a new landmark in the city, offering a unique, multi-segment scheme, comprising a midscale hotel, economy hotel and serviced apartments,” said Christophe Landais, chief operating officer for Accor Hotel Services Middle East. “These signatures will also mark a key milestone for us as they have brought us to our committed target of 100 hotels in the Middle East and we are extremely proud of this achievement.”
Sheikh Mohammed Omar Alesayi, Alesayi Group president and CEO, said: “We are delighted to capitalise on our excellent relationship with Accor and their experience in managing multi-branded projects to bring a truly integrated project to the city of Jeddah. Our ambition with this project is to set a new benchmark for economy and midscale hotels in Jeddah.”
The project will be located in one of the most vibrant areas of Jeddah and will be highly visible on a strategic artery of the Al Andalus Road, which is the main access road to Makkah.
It will also be in close proximity to the Corniche and leisure areas of the city, and situated next to the world’s tallest flag, which is currently being built.
The project is currently at planning and design stage, and is due to be completed during the first quarter of 2018. – TradeArabia News Service
