Jordan air passenger numbers edge up in March

Passenger numbers at Jordan’s Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) rose to 568,734 in March 2014 from 549,861 in March 2013, marking an increase of 3.4 per cent, according to figures released by the Airport International Group (AIG).

The figures for March bring the year-to-date (YTD) PAX rate up by around 12.1 per cent from 1,472,524 PAX to 1,651,415 PAX during the same period.

Meanwhile, aircraft movement (ACM) witnessed a 4.8 per cent increase, with traffic rising from 5,692 ACM in March 2013 to 5,963 ACM in March 2014, pushing year-to-date ACM up by 7 per cent.

“Our consistently positive traffic results are further testament to our ongoing efforts to position Queen Alia International Airport as a globally acclaimed gateway that delivers top-notch services and world class facilities,” said Kjeld Binger, chief executive officer of AIG.
