Gulf Air wins top ICT award at iTECH Gulf

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, won the ICT Achievers Award at the recent iTECH Gulf 2014, a major ICT and IT show, in Bahrain.
The iTECH Awards recognize the value that companies and individuals contribute to the development of the ICT sector in Bahrain and the wider GCC while the "ICT Achievers Award" distinguishes Gulf Air's high level of Information Security management and the IT services that have helped achieve customer satisfaction and deliver service excellence.
Receiving the award, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer Maher Salman Al Musallam said: “It is an honour for Gulf Air’s IT achievements to be consistently recognized on both the regional and global scale. This award reinforces our achievements in Information Technology development – vital in the aviation industry today and integral to providing a secure and safe business technology environment to our customers.”

This award is a testament to that commitment and to the dedication and skills held by the national carrier’s Information Technology team.”
Gulf Air’s IT achievements include being one of few regional airlines to hold the prestigious, global ISO certification for its information security management system. The airline was also the first organization in Bahrain to introduce Private Cloud Computing in its IT operations that enables it to achieve much faster and more efficient business performance, resulting in enhanced customer service in every step of passengers’ journeys. – TradeArabia News Service
