Hilton to open Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, California, April 13, 2014

Hilton Worldwide's Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has unveiled designs for the development of a Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills.

The partnership between a private investor group led by Alagem Capital Group and clients of Guggenheim Partners plans to open the new luxury hotel in 2017.

The hotel, located adjacent to the Beverly Hilton, will be a 12-storey hotel, featuring 170 luxury rooms and will join Waldorf Astoria’s portfolio of 24 hotels and resorts.

John T A Vanderslice, global head of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, said: “The arrival of our Waldorf Astoria brand to Beverly Hills is one of the most highly anticipated developments in our portfolio.”

Beny Alagem, chairman of Alagem Capital, said, “Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will be one of the most luxurious urban hotels in the country. From the world-class design to the exclusive services, every detail is designed to create an unprecedented hospitality experience that doesn’t exist today.”

The hotel will feature a triple-height lobby with a contemporary Art Deco design, the signature Waldorf Astoria clock, hand-painted murals of California landscapes and custom chandeliers.

Each of the 170 guestrooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto oversized private balconies, comfortably furnished and landscaped to create a Beverly Hills Lanai that brings the outdoors inside.

On the third level, spacious Villa Suites will open onto manicured private garden terraces.

The rooftop pool deck will include landscaping, VIP cabanas, lounge areas and a swimming pool specifically for hotel guests.

The hotel will also feature inspirational cuisine with an award-winning chef, select retailers such as Graff Diamonds, and a 5,000 sq ft Waldorf Astoria Spa with recognised management and products.

It will house about 6,300 sq ft of indoor meeting and special events space, technology offerings and a ground-level outdoor dining terrace and an open-air space.

The interior will be designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR) of Paris and Chicago, featuring richly upholstered furniture, custom Strass crystal chandeliers, lacquered sycamore millwork, Lalique installations as well as a significant curated art programme throughout hotel.

The exterior is to be co-designed by Gensler, a leading global design firm, and PYR, joined by their parent company Perkins+Will.

The hotel will also feature a service initiative ‘True Waldorf Service,’ which will assign a personal concierge who will ensure that each guest receives anticipatory and personalised service before, during and after their stay.

It will take part in the Hilton HHonors, a guest rewards programme that allows members to ear Point & Miles for the same stay and redeem points for free nights with No Blackour Dates at more than 4,000 hotels worldwide. - TradeArabia News Service
