Countdown begins for Bahrain air show

Manama, January 12, 2014

Gulf Air, the official carrier of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS), today (January 12) begins its three-day countdown to BIAS 2014 which commences on Thursday at the Sakhir Airbase.

“Gulf Air is proud to, once again, be the official carrier of the event,” remarked Gulf Air acting CEO Maher Salman Al Musallam.

“As the national carrier of Bahrain,a key national infrastructure asset and an integral part of the local economy it is natural for us to be involved in this significant, bi-annual event that not only adds great value to the growing prominence of the Kingdom’s aviation sector in the international arena but also opens up vast business opportunities for the aerospace industry.”

As the official carrier of BIAS 2014 Gulf Air will have a dedicated exhibition stand and chalet at the event.

The opening day will see the national carrier showcasing its distinctive Gulf Air A330 flying display in addition to a static aircraft display of the Gulf Air A320 ER (extended range aircraft) and various announcements throughout the three days.

Returning to the Kingdom on January 16-18, BIAS 2014 is organized under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

A number of multinational companies are participating in the event including ADS Group, Airbus, BAE Systems, The Boeing Company, Farnborough International, GE, Lockheed Martin, Lufthansa Technik and Sikorsky / Pratt & Whitney.-TradeArabia News Service
