Munshaat, Accor to launch Pullman Makkah

Dubai, April 30, 2012

Munshaat Real Estate Projects Company and Accor, a global hotel operator, announced the signing of Zamzam Pullman Makkah, formerly Zamzam Grand at the Arabian Travel Market, which opened in Dubai today (April 30).

Zamzam Pullman Makkah will undergo extensive renovation to truly portray the core characteristics and values of the Pullman brand. The renovation will start with the public areas and restaurants in May and continue with the full refurbishment of the 1,315 suites and rooms.

Hamad Al Atiqi, CEO Munshaat Real Estate Projects Company, said: “We are pleased to partner with Accor, one of the world's leading hotel operators and a market leader in hospitality.”

“Accor shares our passion in creating a new upscale hotel in the holy city of Makkah, which integrates the best elements of the Kingdom’s religious and historical heritage with innovative facilities. The Zamzam Pullman will be the largest hotel in our portfolio of 2959 rooms in the holy cities.”

The property is a distinctive landmark in Makkah, centrally located just a few steps away from Al Haram Al Makki facing King Abdulaziz gate.

The prime location of the hotel is within walking distance of the holy Masjid al Haram. The Zamzam Pullman is part of Abraj Al Bait complex that shelters the lunar observation center, Makkah Islamic Heritage Museum and a wide range of lifestyle facilities.

The 948 rooms and 367 suites are fully equipped to provide world-class service and modern comfort.  Most of the units enjoy a breath-taking view over Haram, Kaaba or the city of Makkah. Zamzam Pullman guests will enjoy Continental, Asian and authentic Arabic cuisines at Al Zahra and Al Yasmin restaurant.

The Tea Garden offers an extensive portfolio of coffee, tea, light meals and pastries all day until midnight while 24-hour room service caters for special family meals upon request.

Christophe Landais, managing director, Accor Middle East, said: “We are pleased to partner with Munshaat, one of the leading hotel developers in the region and are delighted to introduce our upscale Pullman brand in Makkah.”

“With such a prestigious new address in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia we welcome pilgrims from all over the world to experience the spiritual atmosphere close to the Haram. This hotel represents an important step for the brand in the Middle East and is the latest addition to Accor’s current network of our Pullman properties in the region.”

In the Middle East, the Pullman network is successfully growing and currently operates four properties with 1,164 rooms in Jeddah and Dubai. Two more Pullman properties are in the pipeline in Doha and Dubai, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
