Australian Meat to host charity barbeque

Dubai, January 19, 2012

Meat & Livestock Australia - Mena (Australian Meat) will organise an Australian barbeque and entertainment programmes event in association with UAE Red Cross in Dubai next week.

The free event, for the local community, will be held at Dubai Creek Park, starting at 1pm on January 27.

The event, which is taking place for the third consecutive year, will be a blend of entrainment and fun for families with the centrepiece being the barbecue set up by Australian Meat.

Australian Meat will serve, for free, 750 kg of the finest prime Australian kofta to the Park’s visitors who are, in turn, encouraged to make a donation to the UAE Red Crescent.

Lachlan Bowtell, general manager, MLA – Mena, said: “We strongly believe in giving back to our community and we take seriously our corporate social responsibility initiatives in the region. This charity event is unique and the two previous editions proved to be very successful with over 1500 people, representing all communities, in the UAE partaking.  This year, we look forward to yet again a great day of fun and giving.”

“We believe that the Red Crescent is the ideal partner for this event in light of its active humanitarian role and extended outreach. We also encourage the community to be actively involved in this charitable event, especially as this is an ideal opportunity for parents to teach their children to be good community members and giving to the less fortunate around the world,” he added.

Mohamed Abdullah Al Haj Zarouni, Red Crescent Authority – UAE (Dubai branch) said: “We praise this social and charity initiative which reflects the importance Australian Meat attaches to its corporate responsibility.”

“We are part of this initiative for the third consecutive year as we believe in joining forces with the business community and other organisations to leverage charity and humanitarian work. I seize this opportunity to thanks all those who are contributing to make of this event a great success.”

The entertainment programme at the event will be led by an expert entertainment company and will include kids’ competitions as well as drumming and aerobic sessions.

The event will also feature a mixture of local, eastern and western music.
MLA has contracted a leading catering company, to handle the preparation and cooking of the barbecue as per the highest safety and hygienic measures, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
