Other airlines to carry Wataniya passengers

Kuwait, March 17, 2011

Wataniya Airways, which ceased operations yesterday, announced that guests stranded in Dubai, Beirut, Cairo, with return tickets to Kuwait, can fly on Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways with the same tickets.

Passengers would have to show a printed copy of their itinerary or ticket and be able to travel on the alternate flights upon seat availability without any extra charges.

Jazeera Airways will also carry Wataniya Airways passengers stranded in Istanbul starting from March 27, which is when Jazeera Airways starts its seasonal Istanbul schedule. Jazeera Airways operates its flights from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.

“We are working closely with other carriers to secure return of our guests in Vienna where possible and will announce any new developments as soon as they’re confirmed. I ask our guests to continue monitoring our website wataniyaairways.com for the latest updates on the company’s situation,” said Abdulsalam Al Bahar, chairman and managing director of Wataniya Airways.

Guests outside Kuwait who cannot book an alternative flight or those in Kuwait with existing Wataniya Airways ticket or holiday package and wish to make a claim for a refund, should register the claim through the web by contacting claims@wataniyaairways.com.

Wataniya Airways offices are closed and guests can get all their updates from Wataniya Airways’ website, the company said.-TradeArabia News Service
