Banyan Tree Al Areen, Bahrain, has announced the appointment of  Zee Bassila as the new director of sales and marketing.

Zee, a Canadian national, joins from InterContinental Hotel Kiev, where he was in charge of the pre-opening sales and marketing operations for the past two years.

He first started his career as Banquet sales manager at the Ritz-Carlton in Quebec, Canada before moving to the Middle East to join the InterContinental Hotels Group where he spent 12 years between UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain and Ukraine in his capacity as director of sales and marketing.

Zee has gained valuable experience of the Bahrain market as the director of sales and marketing at Crowne Plaza Bahrain, where he worked from 2005 – 2008.

Zee Bassila, in his new role, will be leading the sales, revenue and reservations, events and marketing communication team.

He will be in charge of top line revenue production, cost management, distribution and e-marketing as well as group and event sales, partnership marketing and customer relationship management.-TradeArabia News Service
