Sama flies to Alexandria

Sama, the newest budget airline in Saudi Arabia, launched its first flight from Jeddah to Alexandria, Al-Nozha International Airport.
The airline will have four weekly flights between Riyadh, Jeddah and Alexandria, said a Sama official.
With the launch of Alexandria flights, Sama’s international destinations tally has increased to eight including Abu-Dhabi, Sharjah, Amman, Damascus, Latakia, Aleppo, Beirut.
The inaugural flight from Jeddah had Andrew Cowen, CEO and Faisal Al-Duhaim, director of Marketing, along with Sama officials and some journalists on board.
Cowen stressed that with the launch of Alexandria flights Sama was offering several new options for low-cost travel for more than 15 million Egyptian citizens in Alexandria and the near by provinces.
'I am also very pleased to announce that Sama is very close to achieving the milestone of one million passengers booked, which we expect to hit within the next few weeks, with the help of this Alexandria route launch. The millionth passenger to book with us will receive free travel on Sama to anywhere on the Sama network for him and his immediate family for a year,' Cowen said.
'Travel demand between Saudi Arabia and Egypt is amongst the highest in the Middle East. Fares start from only SR375 ($100). Flights depart every Saturday and Tuesday from Riyadh, and every Monday and Thursday from Jeddah. The return flights to Riyadh will be on Monday and Thursday, and Saturday and Tuesday to Jeddah,” said Faisal Al-Duhaim, Sama director of marketing.
Saudi consul in Alexandria Abdul Ghani Shuwaila and deputy governor of Alexandria general Safauddin Kamel and Aly Hussein Aly, Alexandria international airport manager and Omar Islam Shalaby, chairman of imperial travel, Sama’s general sales agency in Egypt were present on the occasion.-TradeArabia News Service
