Carrefour partners with e-commerce platform Basket.jo

AMMAN, December 18, 2018

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has partnered with Basket.jo to enhance Carrefour’s online shopping experience in Jordan and providing customers with a large product offering including groceries, detergents and personal care products, starting early 2019.

The partnership is in line with Majid Al Futtaim’s omnichannel strategy to implement e-commerce formats across all countries it operates in and comes less than a week after Carrefour Jordan launched its webstore.

More customers will now have access to a variety of Carrefour products, providing them with a shopping experience that is safe, convenient and stress-free, from the comfort of their homes.

Consumers will enjoy the same great value and quality of products they know from Carrefour stores. Basket.jo provides country-wide delivery and different payment options including cash on delivery and soon credit cards.

Alain Enjalbert, the country head of Carrefour Jordan at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: "We are pleased to partner with Basket.jo in Jordan as we will be able to offer our customers an enhanced online shopping experience."

"The start-up is well placed to provide convenience to our customers and together we will be able to cater to a growing customer base across the country. The partnership comes as part of our efforts to roll out our omnichannel strategy via a variety of e-commerce services for consumers and supports our aim to create great moments for everyone every day," stated Enjalbert.

Omar Akel, the founder of Basket.jo, said: "Carrefour is one of the largest retailers in the world and number one in Jordan. Through this partnership, we are pleased to offer the best of Carrefour’s products to our customer base across the Amman."

"This is part of our continued commitment to conveniently offer customers all their needs at their door steps," he stated.

Earlier this week Carrefour Jordan launched its e-commerce platform via www.carrefourjordan.com, which offers customers a wide range of products to buy online, including furniture, electronics, TVs, mobile phones, cleaning products and baby-related products.-TradeArabia News Service
