BenQ launches new 4K UHD home cinema projector
DUBAI, February 27, 2017
Leading DLP projector brand BenQ has introduced its latest 4K UHD digital home cinema projector – X12000 with razor-sharp true 8.3 million pixel detail.
This home cinema projector strikes a perfect balance of wide-gamut high brightness from Philips ColorSpark HLD LED technology and cinema-accurate colours from BenQ-exclusive CinematicColor Technology. Bringing life to cinema with its colour precision and high brightness for well-lit home cinema rooms, the X12000 delivers an ultra-wide DCI-P3 colour gamut to authentically capture the director’s original vision to rival the picture quality of a commercial digital cinema, the company said.
With 8.3 million distinct pixels to fully meet Consumer Technology Association's (CTA) 4K UHD specification, X12000 raises the bar of the home cinema viewing experience. Defined by the digital film industry, the DCI-P3 colour gamut encompasses a significantly larger portion of the visible colour spectrum, proving far more colours than Rec. 709 and sRGB, it said.
“The DCI- P3 is a colour standard of DLP digital cinema derived from the same technology being used at all IMAX auditoriums worldwide. The intelligent functionality and installation flexibility in the X12000 comprehensively allows consumers to integrate it seamlessly into any upscale home cinema,” said Manish Bakshi, managing director, BenQ Middle East & Turkey.
Perfect Balance
Revolutionary Philips ColorSpark HLD LED technology provides a wide colour gamut with up to three times screen brightness by combining green light four times as bright as conventional green LEDs from its High Lumen Density phosphor module with high-brightness red and blue LEDs, generating 2,200 lumens of brightness for use in well-lit rooms. X12000’s industry-exclusive CinematicColor Technology hones this wider colour gamut and higher brightness to produce the expansive DCI-P3 colour gamut, equalling the high standards of commercial digital cinema.
Spectacular Picture Quality
X12000 utilises the advanced DLP 4K UHD DMD with XPR technology for 3840 x 2160 distinct pixels and true 8.3-million pixel 4K UHD resolution. Single-DMD DLP technology preserves precise colour accuracy and image integrity and colour accuracy without artefacts caused by panel misalignment, especially critical for 4K pixels which are much finer than 1080p. And X12000’s sophisticated 4K optical system delivers stunning visual quality to replicate an authentic digital cinema experience with 14 high-resolution elements, a true zoom system, and special low-dispersion lens coatings.
Tasteful Installation
Fitting perfectly into modern home cinema settings, X12000 features streamlined design with sleek front-facing ventilation. Its unobstructed port architecture provides ample space to accommodate thick high-quality cables and HDMI / power cable locks to secure them in place. X12000 also offers H/V lens shift and 1.5X big zoom to fit perfectly into home cinemas of any size.
