UAE-based telecom provider du has announced the launch of the Italian-made luxury Tonino Lamborghini smartphones at select stores throughout the UAE.

A renowned name in the business of luxury watches, eyewear, jewellery, leather goods and pens, Tonino Lamborghini had recently ventured into the smartphone sector to cater to tech-savvy luxury consumers.

Its devices are designed and assembled, using the finest materials including calf skin leather and, in some cases, genuine gold-plate, said a statement from du.

The Tonino Lamborghini model - TL 66 Antares - which comes in black, rose gold and silver will retail at Dh11,000 ($2,994.8), while the 88 Tauri (which also comes in gold) will cost between Dh22,000 ($5,989.7) and Dh23,000 ($6,262), it added.
