UAE-based Jacky’s Electronics, a leading multi-brand consumer electronics, recorded a five percent increase in sales during its participation at this year’s Gitex Shopper Spring Edition over the same period in 2015.

The notebook category particularly the 2-in-1 PCs were the most saleable products followed by the smartphone category. The kitchen appliances at Gitex Shopper’s Smart Living Session also achieved good sales across the four-day event.

“Gitex Shopper is still the best platform to showcase new products and unique offers and will remain a key event for the company,” said Mahesh Chotrani, assistant vice president, Jacky’s Electronics.

At the event, the company launched the first-ever Smart Chef competition wherein more than 500 entries were initially received. There were 60 contestants who showed off live cooking demonstrations of various cuisines. All contenders who made it to top 60 received smart phones and smart kitchen accessories from Jacky’s as well as restaurant vouchers from Zomato.

Sofi Pickhard emerged as the first Smart Chef champion followed by Ahlaam Altamaare and Vishakha Khandelwal.  The top three finalists won home appliances worth Dh33,000 ($8,980) in total with the grand winner taking home a appliances from Electrolux worth Dh15,000; second prize worth Dh11,000 and third prize worth Dh7,000. – TradeArabia News Service
