Canon launches new professional grade photo printer
DUBAI, December 23, 2015
Canon Middle East has unveiled the imagePrograf Pro-1000, a new professional grade photo printer from Canon designed for art schools, graphic artists, designers and professional photographers.
Boasting an advanced 12-ink pigment based system, as well as a new 1.28-inch print head and processing engine, the imagePrograf Pro-1000 produces outstanding quality prints up to A2 in approximately just six minutes, said a statement.
A new ‘Crystal-fidelity’ feature will ensure photos taken with Canon EOS cameras can be faithfully reproduced with exceptional precision.
In addition, wireless and cloud connectivity will also offer users the freedom to print from a variety of devices and popular apps.
Employing a unique 12-ink pigment based system the imagePrograf Pro-1000 delivers exceptional quality prints with an expanded colour gamut.
A new series of Lucia Pro inks include a Photo Black, Matt Black, Grey and Photo Grey, and together with a specialist Chroma Optimizer ink, will ensure professional quality monochrome prints with increased black density and uniform glossiness.
The imagePrograf Pro-1000 also helps users achieve prints with smooth gradations, suppressed graininess and an anti-bronzing effect.
Incorporating a new L-COA Pro Image Processing System, the imagePrograf Pro-1000 will ensure the correct balance and mixture of inks, with precise ink droplet placement, to achieve optimum quality photos at a professional grade.
To enhance quality even further, the printer will also accept 1200ppi high resolution image data, a result of the increasing number of pixels of digital cameras in the market today. The added feature produces smooth, fine lines on prints.
With the ability to select from 17 types of Canon approved ICC profile paper, including glossy, semi-glossy and matte, the new printer gives users the freedom to select the specific paper to meet their artistic needs.
The printer also features A2 cut sheet support, producing high quality prints up to 17-inch.
The imagePrograf Pro-1000 enables professionals to use Canon’s Print Studio Pro plugin to print quickly from a range of advanced editing software suites, such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Employing a vast range of connectivity options, the imagePrograf Pro-1000 also enables users to print wirelessly from a range of devices including laptops, PCs, tablets, smartphones and cameras.
Additionally, cloud printing support means photos stored in popular online storage services, such as Dropbox and Google Drive, can be printed directly. By integrating into existing professional workflows, the imagePrograf Pro-1000 makes it easier for photographers to print their photos accurately and efficiently.
With a downsized print head and optimised internal components, the printer is compact and occupies less space than traditional large format printers.
At approximately 723 x 433 x 285 mm, even with 12 ink tanks, the printer is perfect for desktop use in a studio or small classroom environment.
The new imagePrograf Pro-1000 will be available across Europe from early next year. This will be the first in a new series of professional grade printers from Canon. - TradeArabia News Service
