Dana Al Alami collection nets $100m

DUBAI, November 16, 2015

Renowned Saudi designer Dana Al Alami’s hand-selected collection of rare and one-of-a-kind high-value jewellery fetched $100 million at an exclusive auction in Dubai, UAE.

The highly anticipated auction, hosted by Dubai Tourism and Burj Al Arab over a two-day period, attracted a number of prominent high-net-worth clients, investors and VIPs from Europe as well as the GCC countries, especially Saudi Arabia.

The collection comprised a sparkling array of 130 rare jewellery creations designed with precious stones and gems such as diamonds, rubies and emeralds among others. The line-up included 20 necklace sets, 50 rings, 20 pairs of earrings, 20 bracelets, 10 pins and pendants, and 10 pearl creations.

“We would like to congratulate Dana Al Alami on the resounding success of this auction, which also reinforces Dubai’s position as a major global diamond and jewellery capital of the world, with a burgeoning high-end luxury market,” says Mana Al Suwaidi, regional director – Middle East and Sub-Continent, Dubai Tourism.

“I am truly delighted to have had the opportunity to showcase my hand-selected collection of jewellery in Dubai for the first time. The response has been phenomenal and I would like to thank Dubai Tourism and Burj Al Arab for their support and contribution in making this auction such a huge success. I look forward to repeating this success in the future both locally in Riyadh and the rest of the GCC countries as well as internationally in Geneva and London,” says Al Alami. - TradeArabia News Service
