Aswaaq opens new store in The Greens

DUBAI, September 17, 2015

UAE-based retailer aswaaq has opened a new supermarket in The Greens in Dubai, UAE, as the latest addition to its fleet of stores.

The 4,000-sq-ft outlet is located in the Panorama building, near Regent International School and will serve a large catchment area, providing added choice and convenience for residents of The Greens, Tecom and surrounding communities, said a statement.

In addition to a wide variety of produce and international foods, it has a bakery, fishery and butchery, it said.

A ribbon cutting ceremony officially inaugurated the new store, performed by Yousef Sharaf, chief executive officer of Aswaaq; Affan Khoori, deputy CEO; and Abdullah Al Qubaisi, board member.

The grand opening also included many activities for shoppers to share in aswaaq’s celebrations. The smell of hot food, baked goods and delicatessen delicacies filled the new store with customers able to sample a variety of treats.

A ‘spin and win’ wheel offered shoppers the chance to win a number of prizes, including vouchers, gift hampers, free wafa points, and one minute’s free shopping. Children were also entertained with balloon twisting, gifts and a visit from aswaaq’s cartoon character mascot, Salloom.

"We're proud to be able to offer shoppers in The Greens and surrounding communities, an enhanced selection of authentic, high quality produce and fresh food in a dynamic shopping environment," said Sharaf.

“The opening of our tenth store is a continuation of our expansion plans for 2015. This is just the beginning, and we expect to open more stores throughout the remainder of 2015 and early 2016," he added. - TradeArabia News Service
