Al Boom launches GoPro HERO4 Session in ME

DUBAI, July 15, 2015

Al Boom Marine, the official distributors of GoPro in the Middle East, has launched the HERO4 Session and the HERO+LCD.

The HERO4 Session is the smallest, lightest, most convenient GoPro yet, said a statement.

About 50 per cent smaller and 40 per cent lighter than GoPro's best-selling HERO4 black and silver cameras, HERO4 Session packs GoPro's award-winning image quality and performance into a new low-profile form factor.

Like the entry-level HERO, the HERO+ LCD has been built directly into its waterproof housing.

Mark Kotze, head of Tech for Al Boom Marine, said: ”We are incredibly excited about the launch of the HERO4 Session and the HERO+LCD in the Middle East. With enhanced user experience features and meticulous design, GoPro has listened to the market and delivered a perfect solution.”

HERO4 Session captures GoPro-quality 1080p60, 720p100 and 1440p30 video along with eight-megapixel photos in Single, Burst and Time Lapse modes, said the statement.

It features many of the same innovative features found in GoPro's best-selling HERO4 black and silver cameras, including SuperView(TM), Protune and Auto Low Light recording modes.

An expanded set of controls and settings can be accessed when using the GoPro App or Smart Remote, it said.

Operating HERO4 Session is very simple. A short press of the shutter button quickly powers the camera on and video recording begins automatically. A long press of the shutter button powers the camera on and triggers Time Lapse photo capture.

The shutter button should be pressed again to save video or photo content and power the camera off. This simple one button design drastically improves the speed and convenience of capturing life moments as they happen, said the statement.

It has been built to GoPro's famous rugged standards and is waterproof to 33 feet without the need for a separate waterproof housing. It features a sleek frame mounting system that is compatible with GoPro's expansive array of mounts.

An innovative dual microphone system will switch sound recording between microphones to reduce wind noise during activities. The audio performance during water-based activities has been dramatically improved with the waterproof design that eliminates the need for a separate waterhousing, which can often muffle sounds.

Meanwhile, the HERO+LCD has been described as all-in-one awesome + touch-display convenience. Capturing life-like high definition 1080p60 video and 8MP photos, it features a convenient touch display for easy shot framing, settings control and access to an all-new in-camera video trimming feature.

Rugged and waterproof to 131-feet, HERO+ LCD also includes advanced features like HiLight Tagging and in-camera video trimming to make it easier to identify and share the user’s favourite moments.

Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connect the HERO+LCD to the user’s GoPro App-enabled smartphone or tablet for easy camera control and shot preview when the camera is mounted or out of reach. - TradeArabia News Service
