Eros Group named Superbrands’ ‘Brand of the Year’

Eros Group, a leading distributor for consumer electronics in the UAE, has won the ‘Brand of the Year’ award at the 11th annual Superbrands tribute event, held in Dubai recently.
As many as 55 leading brands from the UAE were awarded Superbrands status and the 2015 Superbrands book was unveiled at the event, also dubbed the ‘Oscars of Branding.’
Mike English, director, Superbrands Middle East, said: “We are thrilled to announce that Eros Group has been designated ‘Brand of the Year’ for 2015 by Superbrands. The brand has, over the years, become a part of every home and its commitment towards customers, suppliers, employees and society is commendable.

Since its inception in 1967 with a small store distributing Hitachi, Eros represents over fourteen global brands, operates thirty-three retail stores and has eight service centres in the UAE.
Recent studies showed that Eros distributes 50 per cent of all televisions sold in the UAE; 50 per cent of all smartphones sold in the UAE; 33 per cent of all vacuum cleaners sold in the UAE; 25 per cent of all premium refrigerators sold in the UAE; 25 per cent of all air purifiers sold in the UAE; and 20 per cent of all routers sold in the UAE, distributing over 4,000 SKUs a year.

The 2015 Superbrands book is a coffee table book, which includes a two-page profile of each Superbrand tracing the foundation and development of the brand and a ‘Things You Didn’t Know section’ highlighting interesting facts about the brand and its unique achievements was also unveiled at the Tribute Event.
