New device in headset jack of smartphone to alert users
, May 21, 2015
Cpush, a small object with an iconic shape that fits in the headset jack of the android smartphone, will alert the user through a light - steady or flashing - when interesting events happen around them and will allow the use to perform some action by pressing a micro button.
The new device features a lot of logic, electronic components and some mechanical stuff packed in about half square centimetre, said a statement.
The engineering team addressed and solved many challenges during its development, it said.
It resulted in the very small electric board controlled by a microprocessor that makes the device independent from the Android operating system version.
The final design of the device, made by a leading industrial design firm, involves an accurate selection of the materials, colours and the creation of an iconic shape.
Cpush is not only hardware but also an open system; the SDK is available for all developers interested in integrating their applications, said the statement.
The users can easily select different scenarios with the Cpush app, it said.
With the ‘Together’ scenario, the user will be able to meet other people for dinner or for practicing sport together. After a quick set up regarding personal life interests, the user will be able to find out if someone who matches their profile is near for a rendez-vous.
The Cpush light will flash at different speeds depending on the distance from the other person and the button will start sending messages until final approach.
With the ‘Parent’ scenario, a parent can control and interact with their teen. They can be alerted if something is going wrong or if their child needs a pick-up.
The app will also feature scenarios for safety, travels, home automation, social life and many others.
A new ‘user experience’ will allow a user to connect objects and establish itself in the emerging field of ‘internet of things.’
The Cpush prototype is ready and fully functional. The team needs a help to bring it on the market and is planning a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, to promote it and to raise the necessary funds to produce it in large scale and to expand it with iOS support, said the statement.
Crowdfunding is not only to raise money but also to acquire as much guidance and feedback from the market and to establish a direct relationship with the backers, it said.
The campaign will begin on June 16 and will last until the end of July, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
