Kcal to open healthy fast food outlets in Egypt

DUBAI, November 25, 2014

Dubai-based healthy fast food brand Kcal is set to open its first flagship outlet in Egypt, following the recently global expansion plans announcement.

The roll-out will encompass 14 branches within the country, said a statement.

Mark Carroll, co-founder of Kcal, said: “Egypt is an important market for us and we are keen to replicate abroad the model we successfully developed throughout the UAE. We could not have selected a better time for our introduction to Egypt’s consumers, as the country has resumed its march forward on the path to recovery.”

The brain-child of Carroll and Andreas L Borgmann, two passionate and dynamic entrepreneurs, Kcal quickly rose to prominence within the industry, delivering on what customers were looking for, said the statement.

Breaking away from the traditional fast-food offerings, Kcal’s platform offers a wide selection of calorie-controlled healthy fast food available in their outlet network or through Kcal Extra, the parallel bespoke delivery service business pillar, presently serving thousands of meals per week.

“We know Egyptian consumers will embrace our healthy nutrition, healthy living philosophy. This significant expansion step will soon be replicated throughout the region as we intent to bring our message and our offer globally,” said Borgmann.

Kcal also plans to open franchises in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Jordan by next year, the statement added. - TradeArabia News Service
