125 firms to showcase organic products at Dubai expo

More than 125 companies from 75 countries are set to showcase organic and natural products at a leading exhibition in Dubai this month.
The 12th edition of Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo (Menope), the Middle East’s only niche organic and natural products exhibition, will run from November 25 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Dicec).
The event provides an effective platform for the organic and natural products industry to access the rapidly growing Middle East market and will also feature a dedicated section for alternative medicines and therapeutic procedures, in line with the expo’s focus on environment-friendliness and sustainability.
Saif Al-Shara, assistant undersecretary for Animal and Agricultural Affair at the Ministry of Environment and Water, stated that the ministry’s patronage of the event comes in line with the ministry’s frameworks to achieve its strategic goals of enhancing food safety and the sustainability of local production and sustainable development, which falls within the ministry’s effort to raise the level of awareness of the importance of organic production.
In addition to consolidating the culture of organic product consumption within the UAE society, given that these products are free from pesticides and produced in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
Al Shara’a added that the Ministry supports and encourages farmers to adopt organic farming techniques that produce chemical free products though the opportunities provided and latest technologies featured in the exhibition.

Menope 2014 will showcase a variety of products spanning across herbals and spices, food and beverages, cereal products, supplements, health care products, natural living, natural cosmetics, healing products, natural remedies, traditional medicines, spas, relaxation facilities, pet products and fabrics. - TradeArabia News Service
