Grohe’s kitchen faucet wins ‘red dot’ award

Grohe, a leading manufacturer of design faucets and water fittings, has won the ‘red dot: Best of the Best’ award for its Minta Touch kitchen faucet, at the 2014 edition of the ‘red dot award: product design 2014’ which was held in Germany recently.
The company also won awards for its Thermostat Grohtherm 2000, its Grohe Rainshower Flower Collection and its Eurodisc Joystick line of faucets.
The faucet was created in the Grohe Design Studio and now incorporating the innovative Easy Touch technology.
It is a hybrid faucet offering two modes of operation. In addition to conventional lever operation, the flow of water can be triggered by skin contact with any part of the spout.
Paul Flowers, senior vice president of Design at Grohe, said: “When we set out to create Grohe Minta Touch, we started by exploring the boundaries of modern technology in cooperation with our colleagues in R&D. This is why we take pride not only in the faucet’s technical and visual features but also in the cooperative spirit, which made it possible in the first place. Winning the ‘red dot: Best of the Best’ is clearly the result of a team effort and we appreciate this award as a very special accolade.”
A panel of 40 judges scrutinised and tested a total of 4,815 entries submitted by 1,816 manufacturers, designers and architects from 53 countries. The awards were presented at the red dot gala event held in the Aalto Theatre in Essen. - TradeArabia News Service
