Cat B15 smartphone passes rigid tests
London, May 21, 2014
Is the new Cat B15 smartphone worthy of joining the Cat brand family? Is it rugged, durable and reliable like other proven Cat products?
To prove the smartphone's credentials, Caterpillar put the B15 to a rigourous test that has been captured in “Gravity,” the second in a new series of Caterpillar short films that follow the action in the "Built For It Trials" equipment challenges.
In the challenge, a Cat MH3049 material handler releases the phone to a pool of water from nearly 35-feet above. The phone still works even after its profound dousing. Then, it is placed on the ground within a group of 600 B15s. The grouping of phones forms two rows and a 4.6 ton Cat 277D motors over them. All the phones survive this crushing punishment as well (see video).
Global brand marketing manager Diane Lantz-Rickard said: "The films we’re producing, including ‘Gravity,’ are a major departure from our traditional product videos,” she said. “We wanted to show the capabilities, features and benefits of our products in a unique way - a way that not only educates the audience, but also entertains them.” - TradeArabia News Service
