Swiss jam maker expands GCC footprint

Dubai, February 23, 2014

Raber AG, a major Swiss fruit brand and producer of preserves, marmalades and jellies, has unveiled big plans for the Gulf region.

A family-owned business founded in 1877 at Lucerne, Switzerland, Raber AG is showcasing its key products at the four-day Gulfood expo which opened today in Dubai.

The company, following its successful launch of the Raber fruit jams at Gulfood last year, quickly expanded to Dubai and entered into a partnership with Emsons Group.

Starting from March, the Swiss firm will start distributing its 28 gram mini jars for food service and 12 kg bake stable jams for bakeries.

It is also introducing products for hotels, restaurants and even hospitals and nursing homes in small breakfast servings and also big buckets.
For retailers and supermarkets, Raber will introduce the jam-assortment "Royale" in 390 gram glasses at a premium level with 70 per cent fruit and whole pieces of fruit.

Commenting on the plans, Josef Feusi, the owner of Raber AG said "We aim to reach out to a broader consumer base in the fast-growing emerging markets where we are already represented by an importer."

According to him, the company’s first participation last year at the Gulfood 2013 was a milestone in Raber AG’s 125-year history.

"This year in February 2014 we want to deepen our relationships in the Gulf region," stated Heinz Umschlag, the marketing and export manager at Raber AG.

"With the help of our importer Emsons Group, we hope to reach out to new customers in the sales channels retail, food service and bakeries. Our message is simple: Raber AG is ready to deliver "Best Swiss Jam," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
