SouqExtra! unveils big plans, names CEO

SouqExtra!, the national chain of community supercenters based in Dubai, has set ambitious plans to meet future expansion across the UAE, fueled by the growth of local economy and growing demands for community services.
The company announced the appointment of Justin Wilshaw as the new chief executive officer during its annual general meeting in line with its plan to consolidate its development plans and meet new challenges.
Wilshaw, an Australian national, has strong property development leadership experience and analytical skills gained through over six years in the Mena region working with reputed brands, said a statement from SouqExtra!.
He is highly successful senior property executive with strong focus on the delivery of commercial benefit.
Saleh Abdullah Lootah, managing director of SouqExtra! said, 'With the aggressive development plans for the future that the company has set, there are new challenges to meet in coming few years.'
Wilshaw brings with him a comprehensive and dynamic career path in the Middle East region in a span of just six years, he stated.
'Currently, there are five SouqExtra! stores up and running successfully that cover 131,845sqft retail area with 108 tenancies in Dubai, Al Ain and Fujairah. Company plans to open 10 more stores in near future.'
To align SouqExtra! facilities with the modern retail development trends, the emphasis will be given to attract more strong brands to UAE, balanced retail mix that activates day and night use of stores with Food & Beverage services, visual activation, improved car access, visibility and circulation of customers to allow 30 per cent footfall upside, he added.
