Amman, April 16, 2011
Samsung Electronics, a leader in digital media, said that its premium notebook, the Series 9, has been awarded the TCO Certified Edge supplement, marking its eco-friendly features.
The Series 9 meets the TCO Certified criteria on environment and usability (picture quality, ergonomics, safety, low emission, energy efficient, ecology, etc.), a statement said.
The Series 9 was launched targeting the global premium notebook market. This 1.31 kg notebook features a SuperBright Plus display with 400nit brightness, which is 100 per cent brighter than conventional displays, as well as its vibrant colour reproduction (16 million colors) creating 60 times greater color depth and contrast ratio (1,300:1), makes it one of the most beautiful notebook displays on the market, the statement added.
“The Series 9 will greatly appeal to premium consumers all across the globe as it offers excellence in design, performance, as well as environment-friendliness. As a leading IT company, Samsung Electronics will reinforce more eco-friendly features for PC products,” said Sangsuk Roh, president of Samsung Electronics Levant.
The TCO (Tjänstemännens Central Organization, the Swedish Confederation for Professional Employees) Certified Edge is open for those products that already meet the TCO Certified criteria, which are world-renowned standards on the environment-friendliness of electric and electronic products.
From among TCO Certified products, the most outstanding eco-friendly technology in an industry is chosen as an ‘edge technology’ and the TCO Certified Edge is awarded to a product that provides the technology. – TradeArabia News Service
