Panasonic to launch 'largest' HD 3D plasma
Dubai, October 5, 2010
Panasonic will offer the world's largest 152-inch full HD 3D as well as two premium plasma displays from January 2011.
The suite includes the TH-152UX1 full HD 3D plasma display, and the TH-103VX200 and TH-85VX200, 3D versions of its premium 103-inch and 85-inch plasma displays.
“Panasonic’s new range ultra-large full HD professional plasma displays are engineered to empower the end user. Television has evolved dramatically, and our new range of products is designed to match our customer’s changing lifestyles,” said Masao Motoki, director, system solution division, Panasonic Marketing Middle East.
“Our large screen displays are ideally suited for the region and Panasonic is committed to making world-class entertainment technology readily available to our customers,” added Motoki.
Panasonic’s 3D ultra high-speed drive technology and new motion prediction technology eliminates crosstalk (ghosting) between left and right images to produce super fine crisp images, and facilitate an overwhelming, near-infinite contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, around twice the tone gradation of conventional models, a statement said.
A 30-bit colour processing engine provides accurate color reproduction and a colour management system that features high-precision pixel conversion and colour signal-processing technology, high definition broadcast-compliant color reproduction, and professional picture quality adjustment, allows displays to be set up to suit their viewing environments perfectly, it added.
The three displays also incorporate video processing technology to allow for the crisp, smooth playback of images originally recorded in 24p, such as movies recorded on film. This raises the video reproduction performance of the plasma display panels allowing for true-to-life reproduction of colorful, high-precision content in either 3D or 2D.
Addressing diverse customer needs, the displays have been outfitted with a SLOT 2.0 function whereby different terminal boards may be inserted, providing compatibility with interfaces such as DVI and HD-SDI, and facilitating use in a wide array of professional operating environments, the statement said.
These advances allow the world's first ultra-large full HD 3D plasma display lineup to reproduce high quality 3D video sources accurately and create an immersive experience that allows audiences to feel as if they were a part of the scene. The 152-inch display can even project life-size images of people, according to the statement. – TradeArabia News Service
