Dubai, September 30, 2010

Sony Gulf, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, recently released a second firmware update for the PlayStation3 console to support 3D Blu-ray disc playback.

Currently available for download through the PlayStation Network (PSN), the second free online firmware update (version 3.50) allows users of PlayStation3 consoles to enjoy 3D movies on their 3D compatible Bravia LCD TVs.

“We are extremely excited to be at the helm of a whole new immersive and realistic three dimensional experience with our end-to-end 3D offerings, ranging from 3D-enabled Bravia LCD TVs to 3D games and movies,” said Tim Stokes, director - sales and marketing, Sony Gulf.

“With further introductions in 3D gaming and movie titles set to come out this year, the PS3 system will continue to be at the forefront of innovation to offer gaming enthusiasts and movie buffs a wholesome 3D experience.”

PlayStation3 already supports stereoscopic 3D gaming with a range of titles such as MotorStorm Pacific Rift-and WipEout HD, that are available for download from the PlayStation Network (PSN), a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
