Novel technologies, games debut at DEAL

Dubai, April 27, 2010

The ongoing Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) expo has seen a wide range of innovative new products and technologies being brought to the market, as the region’s amusements industry continues to show growth.

Warehouse of Games introduced two new interactive gaming products to the market at DEAL this week.

Vulcan-M is an interactive arcade shooting game, complete with 100-inch screen, offering realistic graphics and digital surround sound, for a totally immersive game effect. The company also unveiled a new 4D simulation theatre game for up to eight players.

“DEAL is the only heavy weight show that we participate in as it encompasses all aspects of the amusement industry,” said Nabil Kassim, general manager Warehouse of Games.

“We have been participating since 1997. We landed some good deals last year and we look forward to greater deals this year. We have just finished working on a project in Qatar and are currently working on projects in Jordan and Syria,” he added.

PEM Fountain Company from Canada specialises in water-based products and has introduced two new products to the market this week.

The PEM Spray Apron is designed for spray effects with water switch activation for computer programmed water displays, creating highly visible spray effects up to 4.5 metres high. Also showcased were PEM Water Switches, which switch the flow of water supply within 1/10th or less of a second from one outlet to another, to create a dancing fountain effect.

“This is our third time at DEAL. We are primarily exhibiting to reach out to potential customers from the Middle East and Africa. On the first day of the show our stand received more than 150 customers from countries like Uganda, Bahrain, Iran and Saudi Arabia,” said Peter Micha, company founder.

Westech launched its latest amusement ride at DEAL this week. The Drop ‘N Twist Tower is available in different heights, ranging from 8 to 17 metres. The ride goes up and down and at the same time revolves around, providing riders with an exhilarating ride.

Manufacturer of amusement rides and Sali bumper cars, IE Park Italy, introduced a range of themed mid-size Sali bumper cars designed with different animal graphics, for use at indoor amusement facilities. The company has supplied a number of family entertainment centres in the Middle East, including Stargate.

“The number of new products being launched at DEAL this week shows that the region’s amusement and entertainment industry continues to flourish and innovate,” said Abdul Rehman Falaknaz, president of International Expo Consults (IEC), event organisers.

Deal is also being supported by the Amusement Industry Council of Europe, including Association Fabricantes Y Exp. Maquinas de la Foia de Bunyol (Spain) Associazone Nazionale Costruttori Attrezzature, Spettcoli Viaggianti (Italy); Amusement & Leisure Equipment Suppliers of the UK; American Amusement Manufacturers Association); International Association for the Leisure & Entertainment Industries; India Association of Amusement Parks & Industries; and the World Water Park Association.-TradeArabia News Service
