Acer unveils new netbook

Manama, March 6, 2010

Acer, the second largest PC vendor and a leading netbook provider globally, has launched an exclusive netbook series, the Ferrari One powered by AMD.

The Ferrari One is an ultra-thin lightweight netbook, weighing 1.5 kg. It features an 11.6-inch high definition LCD screen and exclusive Ferrari-engraved touchpad, which offers multi-gesture functionality for ultra fast navigation.

“The Ferrari name has always been associated with performance and reliability,” said Mark Prosser, product marketing manager, mobility products, Acer Computer Middle East.

“Tech-savvy customers across the Middle East region will appreciate the precision-driven supremacy and the powerful design elements of the Ferrari One,” he added.

The Ferrari also comes with Acer’s Grid Vista, which simultaneously shows eight windows on dual display, while the Dolby Home Theatre delivers the audio-video experience.

ATiRadeon HD 3200 Graphics provides high-def visual and image quality coupled with up to 4GB of DDR2 667MHZ system memory, which makes light work of the pre-installed 64-bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Home Basic and a large capacity, (160 GB or larger) hard disk drive provides plenty of storage space.

The Ferrari One features the Acer InviLink Nplify 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N Wi-Fi Certified network connection, supporting Acer SignalUp wireless technology for optimum reception and connectivity and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR (enhanced data rate).

In addition, depending on specification, the Ferrari One is also 3G-ready for maximum connectivity on the move. The Ferrari One also features the Acer video conference solution that includes the low-light enhanced Crystal Eye webcam for super-clear VoIP call quality, even in noisy environments.

The product is now available across the Middle East and priced from $849, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
