Damas presents Farasha’s new jewels
Dubai, December 27, 2009
Damas, the reputed jewellery and watch retailer in the Middle East, is showcasing Farasha’s new festive pieces for the season.
As one of its most popular and best selling collections, Farasha is immediately discernible by its rich combination of diamonds, pearls and colourful semi-precious stones in a rainbow of hues, said a spokesperson.
Aptly drawing its name from the Arabic term for butterfly, Farasha is a collection inspired by the rich and diverse cultural ambience of Dubai, the growing profile of women in the region and the timeless traditions of the land.
Farasha’s new and vibrantly coloured jewels include glamorous pendants, earrings and rings in two alluring designs: one featuring a five-petalled motif and the other a grand butterfly motif executed in an elaborate neo-art flourish.
“The carefully facetted stones and the excellent finish offer craftsmanship of the finest order to unfurl stunning jewellery for discerning women in the region,” said Tamjid Abdullah, deputy managing director of Damas.
The five-petalled flower has its contours outlined with a rich assortment of diamond brilliants, pearls and semi-precious stones such as citrine, topaz, peridots and amethysts against 18k yellow gold settings, lined by mother-of-pearl.
This flower motif is transformed into a pendant that can be strung on a chain and showcased as a stunning ring of astonishing essence. The pendant has a total diamond weight of 1.05cts (approximately), while the ring has a total diamond weight of 0.35cts (approximately).
The butterfly motif is also decked with diamond brilliants and semi-precious stones such as rubies, sapphires, aquamarines, amethysts and tourmalines in round, pear and marquise cut on 18k yellow gold settings, with mother-of-pearl lining and presented as pendants and matching rings.
The butterfly motif pendant featured above has a total diamond weight of 0.20cts (approximately), while the ring has a total diamond weight of 0.11cts (approximately).-TradeArabia News Service
