Sony rolls out new slim Cyber-shot

Dubai, September 13, 2009

Sony Gulf has unveiled its new line-up of slim, power-packed Cyber-shot cameras - the DSC-TX1 and DSC-WX1 - with advanced optical, imaging and processing technologies.

Featuring a new back-illuminated design, Sony’s 1/2.4” type Exmor RTM CMOS sensor maximizes and efficiently utilizes the amount of light received for high clarity images.

The compact DSC-TX1 and DSC-WX1 are twice as sensitive to low-light conditions when compared to conventional image sensors, reducing grain by up to 50 per cent in pictures.

The Exmor RTM CMOS sensor is extremely efficient as it uses a lower voltage when compared to conventional CMOS sensors and CCD’s (Charged Couple Devices).

The sensor along with the BIONZTM imaging processor help produce high resolution images and enables users to take clear, crisp pictures free of distracting noise, even at high ISO settings. It also allows for fast, precise auto focus, auto exposure and white balance adjustments.

Incorporating Hand-held Twilight and Anti Motion Blur, the two new modes that facilitate vibrant shots, the cameras are able to capture six frames of a scene at high speed with nearly 50 per cent less noise, prior to superimposing them to produce one quality image.

The Hand-held Twilight mode catches sharper twilight images even in low-light conditions, without the use of a tripod.

The new models feature a Sweep Panorama mode, allowing users to capture spectacular landscape images with ease. By sweeping the camera in the desired direction, either horizontally or vertically, users can capture breathtaking panoramic scenes.

With the capability of shooting 10 frames a second and an advanced imaging processor, the cameras can collate a unique sequence of detail-packed images to create a single magnificent panoramic picture.

The TX1 and WX1 come with a 10.2 megapixel resolution, and using a mechanical shutter, these models eliminate motion blur and capture fast actions or moving objects by way of high speed continuous shooting at 10 frames per second.

The cameras can also record high-definition movies at 720p and can be viewed by simply linking up to a compatible HD TV.

The DSC-TX1 is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, and features an intuitive multi-purpose 3-inch touch Panel LCD allowing for easy access and navigation to its various options.

The camera incorporates a new intuitive graphic user interface, allowing users to navigate various settings easily, and customise icons of the menu screen for personalised shooting.

The DSC-WX1 comes equipped with an impressive super wide-angle 24mm Sony G lens. The Sony G lens has a wider aperture of F/2.4 which enables users to capture brighter and high contrast images.

Available in attractive colors, the easy to use cameras combine pristine picture quality and brilliant shooting features. For the fashion conscious the Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 comes in five color options – gold, blue, pink, silver and grey, while the DSC-WX1 comes in silver, black, and gold.

The sleek DSC-TX1 will be available from the second week of September and DSC-WX1 will be available in October in all Jumbo electronics stores and other major retail outlets in the UAE.-TradeArabia News Service
