Samsung enters Kuwait Notebook PC market

Kuwait, July 5, 2009

Samsung Electronics on Sunday forayed into the Kuwait notebook market with the launch of its new notebooks and mini notebooks X460, N120 and N310 for the first time.

With the introduction of notebooks and mini notebooks to the Kuwaiti market, Samsung now offers a complete and comprehensive consumer technology product line up with innovative designs and advanced technology, said a senior official.

“Following the success that Samsung witnessed while launching its range of notebooks in the UAE and Saudi, our next step was to reach out to Kuwait, one of our most important markets in the GCC,” said Madhav Narayan, general manager, IT Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

'In spite of Samsung’s fresh start in the Saudi and Emarati notebook market, our line-up gained the trust and admiration of consumers,' he commented.

'Gartner has reported that in EMEA, Samsung notebooks have had a 140 per cent growth in Q1 2009 compared to Q1 2008. That’s phenomenal growth spearheaded by our launch in the region.'

Samsung is a world leader in the manufacture of TFT-LCDs and semiconductors and has a plethora of OEM arrangements worldwide. The launch of notebooks complements Samsung Electronics diverse and comprehensive portfolio of products, thereby enhancing the company’s offering to consumers in the region, he added.

“We are very confident that our entry into the Kuwaiti market will be met with positive consumer feedback and demand. Samsung Electronics is a committed investor in R&D, which enables us to offer notebooks that fuse extensive functionality and performance with world class design that meet consumer needs and requirements.'

'Moreover, when you look at the Samsung notebook range, you will find that 60 percent of the components are manufactured by the company itself. This means that Samsung notebooks have one of the best reliability records in the industry thus lowering the total cost of ownership,' Narayan pointed out.-TradeArabia News Service
