H&M opens two stores in Riyadh
Riyadh, April 5, 2009
H & M (Hennes & Mauritz), the international fashion retailer, has opened two new stores in Riyadh.
The stores, in Riyadh Gallery and Sahara Mall, opened yesterday (April 4).
The expansion of the trendy high street brand is a result of H&M’s strategic partnership with M H Alshaya, the Middle East’s leading retailer, said a statement.
Jazz Hayer, vice president of H&M Middle East, said: “We are very excited to be bringing the H&M philosophy of “Fashion, Quality at the Best Price” to different provinces in Saudi Arabia. “We are convinced that fashionable shoppers of the kingdom will find our concept as appealing as shoppers in other countries in the region have.”
The launch of the stores in Riyadh are part of the bigger phased growth plan for H&M’s business in the Middle East and follow the successful launch of H&M stores in Jeddah, Al Madina and Dammam.
Founded in 1947, there are now over 1,600 H&M stores in 32 countries. “The H&M brand is synonymous around the world with affordable, up to date and high quality fashion. The company’s collections are created by more than 100 in-house designers,” said the statement. - TradeArabia News Service
